The Choir was formed in January 2019 by its Musical Director Glenn Drake and in 2023 it has a new Vocal Coach/Conductor Sarah Dempster.

Both are experienced local musicians.

The name sums up the ethos of the choir – a community based choir where members very much love singing from the heart.

A “performance” choir for those that wish to take part, but no pressure to attend each event.

Membership is currently in the region of 50 plus

The choir sings in up to 4 parts, however there are no auditions. The ability to read music is not necessary. Fun, friendship and support is very important.

There is an open, supportive, relaxed and fun teaching style. Members attend practices as they are able.

A mixture of songs that are fun to learn and sing, ranging from Folk Songs, Songs from the Theatre /Shows to Abba and the Beatles.

The choir currently meets each Tuesday at the Forest Methodist Church (opposite the Deerhound) from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.

Subs are £2.00 per week (includes music, folder and polo shirt)

There is a 15 minute break during choir practice for tea/coffee and biscuits plus a chat – this is very important.

Social events are arranged for those that wish to attend. The choir is always looking for suitable future bookings.
